# StratoNext

> Infrastructure for autonomous DevOps. StratoNext gives AI agents controlled, temporary access to real cloud environments, with identity, policy, approvals, just-in-time access, and audit.

## What it is

StratoNext is a control plane that sits between AI agents and production infrastructure. Agents never assume your cloud roles or hold long-lived keys. They request work through StratoNext, which supplies environment context, checks policy, mints short-lived credentials scoped to the task, runs the operation, and records what happened.

- No long-lived credentials
- No copy-pasting logs
- No over-provisioned roles

One interface for projects, tools, environments, knowledge, and cloud access across agents.

## The problem

A coding agent can read the repository, understand the architecture, and identify a likely fix. But the answer is often in ECS, CloudWatch, RDS, IAM, deployment state, or the configuration of the running environment. Today a human becomes the API between the agent and production.

## The six primitives

| Primitive | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Identity | Every agent has a platform identity. StratoNext knows which agent is asking before it evaluates anything else. |
| Context | Topology, environments, ownership, and runbooks are supplied to the agent, so requests are informed rather than guessed. |
| Authorization | Not just "can this identity act", but "should this agent perform this action, on this resource, for this reason, right now". |
| Just-in-time access | Only the permissions the task requires, only when required, only for as long as required. Then the access disappears. |
| Execution | Approved operations run against real infrastructure through the platform. Agents receive short-lived, scoped credentials, never long-lived keys. |
| Audit and governance | What the agent did, why, and under which policy. Recorded and attributable, not reconstructed later. |

## Example: an unhealthy instance behind `payments-api`

1. Inspect the load balancer's target group.
2. Read the relevant health-check logs.
3. Identify the unhealthy instance.
4. Request permission to reroute traffic to a healthy instance.
5. Receive human approval.
6. Update the target group to redirect traffic.
7. Verify traffic is healthy.
8. Report the result.

The human still decides. The agent only acts inside a guardrail scoped to exactly that one approved action.

## Grounded agents

- **Real context, not assumptions.** Agents read live topology, deployment state, and runbooks through StratoNext instead of inferring them from code or stale docs.
- **Verified before acted on.** Every request is checked against what actually exists and what policy allows, before anything runs. A wrong resource name is caught, not executed.
- **Mistakes stay contained.** Scoped, temporary access and approvals limit what any single step can touch. Every action is recorded.

## Autodiscovery

StratoNext continuously maps connected environments so agents know what is deployed, where it runs, which resources are connected, which environment it belongs to, how it was deployed, and which actions are available.

- **Automatic discovery:** topology, service inventory, environment variables, and deployment history, kept in sync.
- **Full deployment details:** regions, resource IDs, scaling policies, and network config in a structured format agents can reason over.
- **Multi-platform projects:** one project can span AWS, Azure, GCP, and on-prem.

## Connect your agent

StratoNext is agent-agnostic. Use the coding agents, internal agents, and MCP-compatible agents your team already runs.

- **A2A native:** agents that speak the Agent-to-Agent protocol connect automatically.
- **StratoNext skill:** install one skill and the agent gains projects, context, runbooks, and change management.
- **One-time registration:** register an agent once to give it a platform identity. Every authorization decision is evaluated against it.
- **Reference agents:** ready-made ops agents for AWS, GCP, and Azure, under the same controls as your own.

## Autonomy levels

Set per environment, no code required.

| Level | Name | Behaviour |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 01 | Human gated | Every action requires explicit human approval before execution. |
| 02 | Supervised (recommended) | Agents act freely in dev and staging. Production changes are gated. |
| 03 | Autonomous | Agents operate end-to-end within policy boundaries, with a full audit trail. |

Readers vs writers: most agents run read-only by default. Write access is isolated, controlled, and granted only when needed.

## Shared operational context

Agents pull context on demand, do the work, and write what they learned back. Every other agent, and your team, see the same up-to-date context. Agents connect through StratoNext, not directly to your clouds, and run long-running jobs, scheduled operations, and incident response inside their boundaries.

## Deployment

| Option | Summary |
| --- | --- |
| Cloud instance | StratoNext-hosted SaaS. Up in minutes, background agents available 24/7, remote agents for your cloud accounts. |
| Private deployment | Self-hosted in AWS, GCP, Azure, or your private network. Bring your own LLM endpoint, network-isolated execution in your VPC, custom retention and compliance rules. |

## Try it

Ask your coding agent to run a read-only discovery of your AWS account and estimate what StratoNext could take on:

```
Run curl -s https://www.stratonext.ai/prompts/aws.md and follow the instructions.
```

Azure and GCP prompts are coming soon.

## Get started

1. Connect one environment.
2. Define one policy.
3. Give one agent scoped access.
4. Run one real task.
